The Honey Badgers improved to 2-1 on the season with a 81-66 victory over the 76ers. 81 points was the most points scored by any team this week. It was a great team win, with every single player on the roster scoring. Berent led the way with 16 points, with brothers A. Kincaid and R. Kincaid scored 14 and 12 points respectively. In their second game of the day with only 6 players, the 76ers once again put up a hard fight. Corcoran scored a team-high 20 points, while Frys and Mazur once again had good games. Alexis Juliano was unstoppable and could not miss in the second half. Her efforts led her to being named Senior Division Co-Player of the Week!
It was a hard fought battle this week between the Warriors and the 76ers. It was back and forth all game, with countless led changes. All scores were tied at 55 with seconds to go. Phillips dribbled up the court and launched a long 3 at the buzzer. The basket was good, securing the Warriors their first win of the season! Phillip’s winning basket along with his 15 points led him to being named Senior Division Co-Player of the Week! Merz, Doering , and Ellis helped their team to win by scoring 12,10, and 9 points respectively. Despite being low on numbers, the 76ers worked hard all game. They were led by Frys with 23 points and Mazur with 18 points.
The Cougars outscored the LA Sparks 29-22, causing the LA Sparks to lose their first game of the season. Both teams are now tied with overall records of 2-1. The Cougars were led by Kolbert and McCOy, who each scored 7 points. Ciraulo also chipped in 7 points for the LA Sparks, while Bracken put up 5.
G’s Gladiators won their second game of the day over the 76ers, improved their record to 3-0. Gladiator Ben Lauria had a breakout game with a total of 24 points. Sydney Fenn and Jeremey Copeland each added 10 points in the Victory. The 76ers put up a tough fight, despite having a small roster this week. Brothers Travis and Matt Bauer each scored 13 points while Matt Mazur chipped in a solid 10.
The Bolters won their second game of the day over the Tigers. While the Tigers outscored the Bolters in the second half 12-10, they could not come back from a 10 point first half deficit. They were able to pull within four points of the Bolters late in the second half, but then the Bolters went on a run in the last few minutes to secure the victory. The Tiger’s John Preston was a beast on the boards and scored a team-high 12 points. The Bolter’s Malik Bontzolakes also scored 12 points. His excellent performance in both games earned him 12/9 Junior Division Player of the Week!
The LA Sparks improved to 2-0 on the season with a 44-21 victory over the Tigers. While the Tigers kept it close in the first half, they went cold offensively in the second half while the LA Sparks stayed hot and pulled away. It was a nice team win for the LA Sparks. Zach Molino, Shaunah Bracken, Jerry Hatt, and Chance Ciraulo each scored 8 points in the victory. The Tiger’s Jude Gerbec also scored 8 points while teammate Colin Balcarczyk scored 7.
